GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Two Grand Forks men were seriously injured when their mosquito control vehicle struck a train.

Police say the vehicle was hit Wednesday morning when it apparently didn't yield to the freight train hauling crushed rock or similar materials.

28-year-old Kyle Johnson, the driver, was in critical condition and 22-year-old Jonathan Bartel was in serious condition at Altru Hospital.

Both men work for the Grand Forks Public Health Department's Mosquito Control Program, which is operated by Grand Forks Public Health.

The train operator was not injured.
