ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The Sartell Police Department honored six people for their life-saving efforts.

The awards were given to Officer Curt Grosz, Firefighter Adam Imholte, Firefighter Dennis Ertl, and teenagers Abigail Trelfa and Madison DeMarais for saving 16-year-old Daniel Fleigle.

Fleigle was on the old Sartell Bridge in June of 2016 when he grabbed a live wire, was electrocuted, and fell 30 feet from a bridge to the deck below.

Abigail and Madison called 911 and started CPR.

They continued CPR until Grosz, Imholte, and Ertl arrived and took over.

The Sauk Rapids teen began breathing on his own after the use of an automated external defibrillator.

Fleigle was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital and later to Hennepin County Medical Center where he made a full recovery.

The police department says without all five people coming to Fleigle's aid he would have died.

Officer Jake Walters was given a life-saving award for saving a man in LeSauk Township who was overdosing on heroin.

Walters found the man on the floor with a faint pulse and not breathing.

He gave a dose of NARCAN and about 30 seconds later gave another dose.

Police say the man is alive today because of Walters' quick response.
