St. Cloud, Minn. (KNSI) - A St. Cloud Army veteran believes he is the target of a hate crime because of his service to his country.

Thomas Keane lives in northeast St. Cloud and says on Monday morning he walked out to his van parked in his driveway and found a threatening note that you can read below.

"It's pushed my P-T-S-D into overdrive, I'm extremely alert now like when I first came back from Iraq and Afghanistan so I'm constantly looking behind my back and around all the corners," said Keane who served one tour in Iraq and four tours in Afghanistan.

Keane says he has Purple Heart license plate and military stickers on the van.

Police are investigating the incident and have taken the note as evidence.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call the St. Cloud Police Department at 320-251-1200.
