ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A Heat Advisory remains posted for the Twin Cities area and southeast Minnesota through Sunday night, where daytime high temperatures will climb into the low to mid 90's, and the heat index--which factors in humidity-- will approach 100.

Central Minnesota and the St. Cloud area are NOT part of the Heat Advisory, but our weather will be much the same--hot and sticky.

Doctor David Smith with Sartell Pediatrics says children and the elderly can be especially prone to heat stress.

He says signs to look for include dark urine or low urine output, headaches, excessively sweating, and feeling tired and fatigued.

Doctor Smith says hydration is an "on going task"--especially in hot weather like this where you're sweating out those liquids as fast as you drink them.

He says sports drinks contain electrolytes--or body salts. He says they can be valuable, but it's also important to note that those drinks also contain a high amount of calories.
