COLD SPRING, Minn. (KNSI) Rocori School District Superintendent Scott Staska says the district's policies and procedures went well during a "soft lockdown" of the district's buildings Monday afternoon--but he says there's room for improvement.

The lockdown followed word that an adult -possibly armed--might show up at one of the district's schools.

A short time later, police anounced the threat had been neutralized, the lockdown ended and students were dismissed for the day.

Staska says parents were alerted of the threat through Facebook, Twitter and the district's school messenger account, which allows them to send voice and text messages and e-mails to thousands of registered phone numbers in the district.

Staska says while he's happy the threat did not pan out, he says it did provide a good opportunity for Rocori to test their policies and procedures during such events.

He says one area where the district needs to improve is in its communication with bus drivers, and he says because this threat involved multiple buildings, he says "strengthening and enhancing what we do between buildings is one of our goals out of this."
