ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The St. Cloud Police Department says a bicyclist was hit by an SUV and injured when he tried to cross Division Street outside a crosswalk.

It happened around 7 o'clock Thursday night in the 3900 block of Division Street West, near Barnes & Noble.

Police say Robert Anthony Allan Weber attempted to cross Division Street on his bicycle from south to north, and was not in a crosswalk, when he was struck by an SUV that was going east and approaching Highway 15 with a green light.

Witnesses told police the 25-year-old rode out in front of the SUV, failing to yield the right of way, and causing the collision.

Weber was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

He was cited for illegally crossing a road on his bicycle.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.
