MINNEAPOLIS (KNSI) – The Minnesota State House voted Tuesday to pass the Senate approved bonding bill. Governor Mark Dayton is expected to complete the process and sign the bill soon.

There is $496 million worth of public works projects across Minnesota included in the bill. The money goes for things like flood mitigation projects, road and bridge work, and renovations at the State Capitol. The House passed the measure 97-33.

On a local level the bill also includes four-million dollars for St. Cloud Technical and Community College. That money will be used for a renovation of the medium heavy truck and auto body training facilities at the college.

St. Cloud legislators were pushing hard for the bill to include funding for a new parking ramp at the River's Edge Convention Center, and while that didn't happen, there is a pool of grant money in the bill that St. Cloud can apply for to get that project done.
