ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A boy accused of shooting a teenager in St. Cloud was arrested in Chicago.

The 13-year-old was arrested Wednesday after police learned he would arriving in town by bus.

Police say the boy ran from officers, and when they caught up with him he was in possession of a handgun believed to be used in the shooting.

The boy, from Chicago, was wanted in connection with a shooting Monday night on the south side of St. Cloud.

A 15-year-old boy from Moorhead was shot in the leg in the 600 block of 11th Street South.

He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with what's believed to be a non life-threatening injury.

Police say the suspect had been visiting St. Cloud over the summer.

He's in juvenile detention in Chicago, pending extradition to St. Cloud to face charges of 2nd degree assault with a deadly weapon and reckless discharge.
