MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (AP) After several days of scorching heat, relief is in sight for Minnesotans.

A heat advisory that was in effect for central and southern Minnesota expired Thursday night.

By mid-afternoon, temperatures had reached 93 degrees in the Twin Cities and Duluth, 94 in St. Cloud and Redwood Falls, and 97 in Red Wing. T

he combination of heat and humidity was making it feel more like the high 90s to low 100s in much of Minnesota.

The National Weather Service says a cold front will move southeastward across Minnesota, bringing the threat of severe thunderstorms.

But the front also will bring cooler, less humid weather. Highs Friday will range from the mid-70s in northern Minnesota to the low 90s in the southeast.
