MINNEAPOLIS (AP/KNSI) - A judge says the father of Philando Castile won’t receive anything from what remains of a $3 million settlement after attorneys are paid.

Hennepin County Judge Susan Robiner decided in favor of Valerie Castile after reviewing letters from Castile's father, Phelix Frazier Sr, who wanted $500,000 of the settlement.

Frazier Sr. is serving a life term in federal prison on drug trafficking charges.

Castile was shot in July 2016 during a traffic stop by St. Anthony police Officer Jeronimo Yanez.

Castile's girlfriend began livestreaming the shooting's aftermath on Facebook.

Yanez was acquitted of manslaughter in June.
