ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A nine-year-old Rockville girl was hurt when she was hit by a car while riding her bike across a road.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Lori Balderaz-Licona was hit by 25-year-old Mohamed Omar Mohamed of Willmar around 3:30 on Friday afternoon as she attempted to cross Stearns County Road 71 in Richmond.

According to the accident report she was not wearing a helmet.

The young girl was taken to St. Cloud Hospital where she was treated and released.

Police say Mohamed was headed west on Highway 23 with a green light when the child rode her bike into the road.

Police say Mohamed couldn't stop before the collision.

Mohamed, and his 31-year-old passenger Abdi Abdikarem Nur, of Oregon were not hurt.
