ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The St. Cloud area will experience its coldest temperatures in some 18 years Sunday night into Monday.

National Weather Service forecasters say Sunday night's low will bottom out near 32 below zero, with wind chills as cold as 62 below.

Winds gusting between 35 and 45 miles per hour Sunday afternoon and Sunday night will lead to blowing snow with visibilities occasionally dropping to less than one-half mile or less in near blizzard conditions. Should your vehicle become stranded, your life will be at risk. Consider postponing all travel.

Monday won't be any better, with a forecast high temperature around 19 degrees below zero. West northwest winds 15 to 20 miles per hour could drive wind chills colder than 60 below.

Temperatures could finally edge back up into the single digits above zero by Wednesday.

The record low temperature for Sunday in St. Cloud is 32 below zero, set in 1912. The normal high and low are 21 and 2.

Wind Chill Warnings are in effect for all of Minnesota through noon Tuesday. The National Weather Service calls this a particularly dangerous situation, with exposed skin freezing in less than five minutes.
