ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A St. Cloud technology company is helping businesses in two hurricane ravaged states to recover from the storms.

NetVPro helped businesses in Texas and Florida save their critical data before Hurricane Harvey hit Texas two weeks ago and Hurricane Irma hit Florida on Sunday.

Vice President of NetVPro Keith Swingle says they're helping two companies in Texas and eight in Florida.

"I think that backups and disaster recovery are one of those things that don't matter until they matter, but then they really matter."

Since the hurricanes were predicted ahead of time, Swingle says they were able to start working with their clients about a week before the storm hit.

But he says this kind of service isn't just for companies in hurricane zones.

"Any kind of natural disaster is a great reminder for us about the importance of backups and disaster recovery."

Swingle says after experiencing a disaster most companies choose to continually backup systems or save all their data in a virtual cloud.
