ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A car crashed into a power pole, knocked out power, and sparked a brief search for the driver.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says at 3:44 on Saturday afternoon police were called to a car crash on County Road 7 and 248th Street in St. Augusta.

Witnesses told police that a 2005 Chevy Malibu crashed into power pole, breaking it off, and the car rolled at least once.

There was a power outage in the area due to the crash.

The driver then ran from the scene going past the St. Augusta MiniServe, through the Cedar Pointe Apartments parking lot and to Pleasure Land RV.

The 30-year-old St. Cloud man, whose name wasn't released, was picked up by a private party and returned to his home.

During the search for the man the sheriff's office learned the man may be experiencing a mental health crisis.

The driver was later found at his home. He was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.
