UPSALA, MN (KNSI) - Lightning is the apparent cause of a fire that destroyed a barn and its contents near Upsala overnight.

The Upsala Fire Department and Stearns County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Robert and Judith Theisen residence in Krain Township at 2:59 this morning after a neighbor spotted the fire and woke up the homeowners.

The barn was filled with hay and also had a grain box worth 300-dollars inside. The 60 foot by 40 foot building is a total loss. The Holdingford Fire Department provided mutual aid.
