ST. PAUL, Minn. (KNSI) The influenza season is off to an aggressive start in Minnesota. Kris Ehresmann of the Minnesota Health Department says as of last week,

One-hundred-five Minnesotans had been hospitalized this season with laboratory-confirmed influenza. She says the number of hospitalizations suggests this winter's flu season will be more severe than the last couple of years.

There have been no flu-related deaths reported in the state yet.

The Health Department is recommending flu vaccinations for everyone six months and older unless they cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons. The typical flu season runs from October through April.
