ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The St. Cloud Park and Recreation department is hoping to get kids hooked on fishing.

The city is offering a free fishing opportunity for kids of all ages with the Lake George Fishing Club.

The fishing club meets on Tuesdays from 1 - 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. through August 12th.

Equipment and bait will be provided if kids don't have their own.

The events also include prizes, giveaways and other activities.

Kids interested should meet at the Lake George Boathouse/Shelter, and can also call 320-650-3053 for more information.

For people 16 and older, a fishing license is required.

Anyone with old fishing equipment lying around is encouraged to donate it to the program by dropping it off at Whitney Recreation Center or the Lake George Municipal Complex.
