ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI)  Central Minnesota will see the hottest weather so far this summer today (Monday).

The National Weather Service says temperatures will rise into the lower 90s, with the heat index expected to climb to between 105 and 110 degrees Monday afternoon.

Because of that, a Heat Advisory has been issued for the area from 11 o'clock Monday morning until nine pm Monday night.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. People are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air conditioned room, and if you do have to work outside, wear light, loose fitting clothing, and take period breaks.

Severe storms are possible tonight, with the main threat being damaging winds and heavy rain.

St. Cloud's record high temperature for Monday is 105 degrees set in 1934.
