ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The Becker Police Department says a man with a felony warrant led police on a chase before being apprehended.

Police say the pursuit started around 12:53 Monday afternoon when Binh Phuc Cao refused to pull over for an officer and sped off.

Police say the driver went through Becker at speeds up to 40 miles per hour, and then reached speeds of 90 miles per hour outside city limits.

The pursuit entered Benton County where the man allegedly drove through a cornfield to elude authorities.

After a 35 mile pursuit that lasted about 40 minutes, the driver's tires were deflated with stop sticks and he was taken into custody.

The 40-year-old Cao was taken to the Sherburne County Jail where he was booked on charges of fleeing a police officer, and for the felony warrant for criminal sexual conduct out of Wright County.

Several agencies assisted with the pursuit including the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office, The Benton County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
