St. Cloud, Minn. (KNSI) - A St. Cloud man who made a plea deal for trying to force a teenage girl to perform a sex act on him in exchange for a ride home learns his fate.

22-year-old Mohamed Abdirahman Salah was sentenced to six days in jail already served and 25-years-probation. In March Salah made a plea deal for an Alford plea to 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct.

An Alford plea means he doesn’t admit guilt but, admits if the case had gone to trial there was enough evidence to most likely convict him.

As part of the deal, Salah must cooperate with a Stearns County investigator regarding sex trafficking in the area.

In March of 2016 police were called by a 14-year-old girl who said a man was trying to rape her.

The victim met with police and said she was given a ride from Blaine to Stearns County and the next day was offered a ride home by Salah.

The teenager said that on the way home Salah pulled into a parking lot and asked for a sexual favor.

Investigators say the victim refused and Salah got mad and allegedly tried to force her to touch him.

Police say the girl was able to pull her hand away, but then Salah got on top of her and forced her to touch him.

The victim said she was able to make an excuse and ran from the car and called for help.

Investigators returned to the area where the assault took place and found some of the victim’s personal belongings on the ground and saw Salah driving in the area and stopped him.

He told police that the victim had agreed to the sexual favor in return for a ride back to Blaine and that she changed her mind at the last minute.

Salah says no sexual contact occurred and he thought the girl was 19.
