ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Bond has been set at $1 million for a St. Cloud man accused of killing a man with a punch.

21-year-old Travis Allen Johnson was charged on Tuesday morning in Stearns County District Court with 2nd degree murder.

Police say at 2:39 on Saturday morning Johnson and a group of men were walking home when they got into an argument with another group of men at the intersection of 9th Avenue South and 7th Street South in St. Cloud.

Prosecutors say surveillance video from a nearby SuperAmerica shows Johnson running up to 22-year-old Anthony Quinn Shriver as he was walking away and punching him in the side of the head.

Investigators say the punch knocked the Waconia man unconscious.

Police say Shriver had no visible signs of injury, complained of a headache but refused any medical attention and went home with his friends.

Johnson was found shortly after the fight and was issued a citation for 5th degree assault.

Around 12:30 on Saturday afternoon, first responders were called to a home on the 2200 block of 10th Avenue South, where Shriver was found unresponsive. Paramedics tried to revive him but he died.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s says Shriver died from a traumatic head injury due to a physical assault.

Johnson turned himself in on Sunday night. His next court date is August 21st.
