ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A man was hurt after his truck was hit when he stopped to assist a car in the ditch on Interstate 94 in Wright County.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the accident happened around 10 p.m. on Monday near Monticello.

Authorities said a car driven by 22-year-old Ariana Diop of Mankato was going east when she went off the road and into the ditch.

52-year-old Eric McDaniels of Dickinson, North Dakota pulled over on the shoulder to help when his pickup was struck by a third vehicle driven by 25-year-old Joshua Covington of Lovell, Wyoming.

McDaniels was the only person hurt.

He was taken to a Twin Cities hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office assisted on the scene.
