DULUTH, MN (AP) — Now that Minnesota's wolf-hunting season is official, the pressure shifts to state wildlife officials to finalize how to handle issues such as licensing and registration.

The wolf-hunting season will begin on November 3rd. That's also the first day of the state's firearms deer season. The season became official Thursday when Governor Mark Dayton signed the recently passed Game and Fish bill.

That gives the state Department of Natural Resources just under six months to figure out logistical details.

A Duluth News Tribune report says the DNR has the authority to set a harvest quota, structure the season, conduct a lottery to select hunters and reserve a portion of the annual quota for trappers.
