MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A 28-year-old Minneapolis man convicted of killing two people by drunkenly driving his car into a crowd has been sentenced to just over 20 years in prison.

Amecio Enge was convicted of five charges, including third-degree murder and criminal vehicular homicide.

Prosecutors say Enge drove into the crowd after brawling with 35-year-old Maurice Meeks in October 2010. Meeks and Enge's stepfather, 42-year-old El Mio Johnson, were struck and dragged beneath Enge's vehicle. Meeks and Johnson died.

Prosecutors alleged that Enge's actions were intentional. The defense argued that Enge was panicked and simply trying to escape.

A Minneapolis Star Tribune report says Enge was drunk and had marijuana in his system at the time.

Enge was sentenced Monday in Hennepin County District Court.
