ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — At least two-thirds of property tax levies put forward by Minnesota school districts have won voter approval.

Still-incomplete results from Tuesday's election show that most of the 76 districts that had referenda on the ballot found success. The number of levies for school construction and operating expenses was typical for an off-year election.

The requests for extra money came on top of the $485 million in new education funding lawmakers approved last session for the next two years. Some districts were renewing expiring levies.

Voters in Albert Lea, Duluth, Owatonna, Roseville and Warroad were among those who passed the local levies. Requests failed in Eden Prairie, Marshall, Worthington and some other places.
