MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Democrats far from the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., still got into the action for President Barack Obama's nomination acceptance speech.
More than 100 students filled a college lecture hall Thursday night at the University of Minnesota to watch the convention on a big screen. Former Vice President Walter Mondale arrived just in time to watch current Vice President Joe Biden speak.
It was one of more than 100 neighborhood watch events the campaign held around the state.
Most at the campus event weren't old enough to vote in 2008. They were greeted with voter registration cards. They were also prodded to sign up to commit to volunteering or organizing in their dorms.
Obama won Minnesota and its 10 electoral votes four years ago.
