MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Hennepin County authorities say anti-Wall-Street protesters who have been occupying a plaza outside the government center must begin removing items from the grounds.

The county says protesters will no longer be able to store items like tables, chairs, boxes or tarps on the plaza. Personal items also cannot be left unattended, or they will be removed.

The county gave protesters a Friday morning deadline to clear the plaza. Protesters have been at the Hennepin County Government Center since since Oct. 7.

County spokeswoman Carolyn Marinan says the protesters are paring down tables, tarps and other items that have been on the plaza for weeks.

Protester Ben Painter tells KSTP-TV demonstrators aren't happy. He says having the people's voices heard is more important than having the plaza look perfectly clean.
