ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Xcel Energy says they have restored power to over 80-thousand customers, leaving somewhere around 50 thousand people without power across the state.

The company is not providing expected restoration times due to the widespread nature of the outages. Xcel is keeping their customers up to date via their twitter account @XcelEnergyMN.

Even with the progress it could take a few days to bring power back for everyone because of the extent of the outages. Most of the affected customers are in the Twin CIties along with about 20-thousand here in St. Cloud. For more information visit the Xcel Energy website.

Gusts were experienced in some parts of the state as high as 85 miles an hour. More storms, with less severe winds are expeted late today and early Sunday.
