ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Two people broke into an apartment in Waite Park and left only after the renter said they were on the phone with the police department.

It happened at 1:30 a.m. on April 11 at Westchester Park Apartments at 40 15th Avenue North.

The Waite Park Police Department says the caller to 911 said two people, believed to be males, kicked in the front door and were trying to get into the bedroom where the caller was.

The caller informed the suspects that they were on the phone with the police department and the suspects took off.

Police responded and used a K-9 to track the suspects with no luck.

No one was injured and nothing was taken from the apartment.

Police are hoping to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or heard anything at the time.

People with information should call the police department at 320-251-3281, or Tri-County Crimestoppers at 800-255-1301.
