ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - St. Cloud State University kicked off the 2017-18 school year with day one of Convocation on Tuesday.

Interim President Ashish Vaidya heralded the start of the new year and discussed student degree-attainment targets and enrollment goals, among other things.

Huskies First Four begins on Thursday, August 17 with students moving into dorms, orientation and welcome events.

New first-year and transfer students will move in to residence halls on Thursday.

Returning students will move in to dorms on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The City of St. Cloud is advising drivers that several streets on and around the St. Cloud State University campus will be closed on Thursday for move-in day.

• 4th Street South from 1st to 5th Avenue South
• 5th Street South at 5th Avenue South
• 6th Street South from 2nd to 5th Avenue South
• 9th Street South from 4th to 5th Avenue South
• 4th Avenue South from 4th to 6th Street South
