ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office received accreditation from the American Correctional Association for the county jail's high standards.

The Sherburne County Jail earned a 97 percent from the ACA on their Adult Detention Facility Standards.

Only one other county jail in the state has received the same honor.

The sheriff's office was presented with the accreditation at a conference in St. Louis.

"This distinguished honor is a testament to all of the hard-working correctional officers, support staff and jail workers who strive for the highest standards everyday," Jail Commander Patrick Carr said.

The county jail employs 116 correctional officers and had 5,176 bookings last year.
