MINNEAPOLIS (KNSI) Many Minnesotans remember where they were six years ago today when the Interstate 35-W bridge collapsed in Minneapolis.

Thirteen people lost their lives that day and 145 were injured. National Transportation Safety Board investigators blamed a design flaw and additional weight on the truss bridge for the collapse.

MnDOT plans to begin parceling out tons of steel from the 35-W bridge wreckage in late August or September. Survivors and families of the victims have already requested around 75 pieces.
