ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A send off ceremony at the St. Cloud Regional Airport saw 20 men with the Minnesota National Guard leave for Afghanistan.

400 people attended the ceremony for, Bravo Co. 2-211th General Support Aviation Battalion based in St. Cloud on Thursday.

The unit will support Operation Freedom's Sentinel.

For four men in the unit it will be their first deployment.

The unit provides support for air assaults, the aerial movement of troops, equipment, supplies, and support for combat and combat service operations.

The deployment is expected to last nine months.
