ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - St. Cloud poets will soon be able to earn themselves a measure of immortality -- their poems could soon be pressed into a city sidewalk.

Poets are now invited to submit their work into the St. Cloud Sidewalk Poetry contest. Five winners will see their effort imprinted into new city sidewalks being poured this summer.

It's an idea modelled after a similar program in St. Paul to incorporate more art into public spaces.

If you want to enter, you can submit two poems each -- no more than 250 characters each -- to the St. Cloud Arts Commission. Those submissions have to be in by April 27. Winners will be selected in May.

Entries should be mailed to the St. Cloud Arts Commission, ATTN: Poetry in Sidewalks, 400 Second St. S, St. Cloud MN 56301.

For more information, you can also contact Jennifer Penzkover at or 650-3148. Entries can also be emailed to Penzkover.
