ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) – Police arrested one man in connection with a series of gunshots fired in the city over the weekend.

Officers say an argument between two groups of people led to the gunshots. All this happened between the 100 and 200 blocks of Sixth Avenue South around 2:30 Saturday morning. There were no injuries.

On Monday, police received information that a suspect in this case--23 year-old Jamar Overton--was inside a residence at 524 54th Avenue North in St. Cloud. Police took Overton into custody with help from the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force. A search warrant was executed at the residence, and a firearm was located.

Overton was taken to the Stearns County Jail where he's being held for second-degree assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Police say their investigation is on-going.
