ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The St. Cloud Area School District says a Tech High School teacher died on Friday.

Harel 'Jay' Sharp was a science teacher and coached multiple sports.

Police and paramedics were called to the school on Friday afternoon on the report of a person unresponsive in a vehicle outside the school.

Emergency responders starting working on Sharp but he could not be revived.

The district says he died of an apparent medical condition.

Superintendent Willie Jett says Sharp, who had been with the district since 1998, had a profound impact on the many young people he engaged over the years.

"It is a sad day for the district, and especially for the Tech family," Jett Said.

"We send our thoughts and prayers to Jay’s family."
