ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A teenage boy suffered a serious injury when he is knocked off the bumper of an SUV while moving a goose blind near Brooten.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at 6:59 on Monday morning on County Road 27 near County Road 201 in Northfork Township.

Investigators say four teenagers were attempting to hold down a portable goose blind on top of a 2000 GMC Yukon that was going west of County Road 27.

15-year-old Dylon Jergenson of Glenwood standing on the rear bumper of vehicle holding the blind on the roof of the Yukon when the goose blind got caught in the wind and broke free, knocking Jergenson off the bumper, onto the pavement, and striking his head.

Jergenson was transported to St. Cloud Hospital, and later taken to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.

Police say 17-year-old Owen Rajdl of Villard and 16-year-old Payton VanBeck of Brooten, were riding in the SUV, also trying to hold down the blind through their open windows.

17-year-old Jayden Miller of Brooten was driving the SUV.
