ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A teenage boy was shot overnight in south St. Cloud.

Police say at 11:24 pm on Monday they were called for a gunshot in the 600 Block of 11th Street South.

Witnesses say that several people were running from the area after the gunshot including a person who was limping.

Police checked the area but were not able to find a victim or a suspect.

Investigators say at 11:50 they were called to the 1000 Block of 10 ½ Avenue South for a 15-year-old Moorhead boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

Police say he was shot with a handgun.

He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with a non life-threatening injury.

Officers say the victim has given few details about what led up to the shooting and hasn't been very cooperative.

Police don't think the shooting was random. The investigation is ongoing.
