MINNEAPOLIS (KNSI) – Officials have had enough of the violence and infractions at two nightclubs in the Warehouse District, and are recommending their liquor licenses be revoked.

Envy and Bootleggers have been the scene of shootings and stabbings, underage drinking, and people smoking marijuana in bathrooms.  The manager of the Minneapolis business licensing division said the nightclubs "no longer deserve to have an on-sale liquor license."

City leaders are also joining the crusade to ensure their late night patrons have a safe and enjoyable time in Minneapolis.

"By focusing our efforts we want to ensure those who are well managed thrive, while we take appropriate action for those businesses that have problems," City Councilwoman Elizabeth Glidden said.

The owners of Envy and Bootleggers have until August 20th to voluntarily shut down, or appeal the revocation notice to an administrative law judge.
