SARTELL, Minn. (KNSI) What Congressman Michele Bachmann did--or didn't do--in the days and weeks following the Verso paper mill fire and explosion in Sartell has become a talking point in the Sixth District Congressional race in the final weeks before Election Day.

On Tuesday, United Steelworkers Local 274 President Lyle Fleck held a news conference in the shadows of the mill claiming Bachmann never personally reached out to Verso employees following the tragedy, and that her eventual appearance at an August meeting with Sartell city officials was an "orchestrated photo opportunity."

Bachmann has said a representative from her office was at the mill within an hour of the Memorial Day explosion, and that responding to the disaster was a priority for her.

Bachmann is running for another term in Congress against St. Cloud native Jim Graves.
