UPDATE - Summertime By George has been canceled, due to the threat of heavy rain and storms.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Rain is again threatening Wednesday Summertime by George concert.

Entertainment Chair Troy Fritz says they're in contact with the National Weather Service and Stearns County Emergency Management.

"We start our call at noon and then what we'll do is kind of get an idea of what's happening and what's coming as things are kind of either breaking apart or forming."

He says they hope to make a final call on whether the free concert at Lake George will go on by 2:30 or 3 on Wednesday afternoon.

"It is what it is until we can figure out what's going to happen."

The forecast calls for a chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The main act is country rock band Hitchville and the opening act is classic country band First Circle.

Last week's concert was almost canceled due to the threat of rain.

On July 19th, Summertime by George was canceled due to the threat of severe weather.

In July, a storm missed the St. Cloud area but caused heavy rain and flooding in Southeastern Minnesota.
