ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The Winter Storm Watch that was in effect for the St. Cloud area is no longer in effect. It's been replaced by a Winter Storm Warning that goes into effect at midnight tonight. It will remain in effect until 6 o'clock Monday night.

Snow will begin late tonight and become heavy during the day on Sunday before tapering off Sunday night into Monday.

The National Weather Service says total snow accumulations in central Minnesota are expected to be in the 8 to 12 inch range.

Heavy wet snow will cause poor driving conditions tomorrow. Winds will increase Monday morning and cause blowing and drifting snow. Travel is expected to be difficult through Monday afternoon.

To our west, a Blizzard Warning has been posted from nine o'clock tonight until noon Monday for far west-central Minnesota--including Big Stone and Traverse counties and the city of Ortonville.

Snowfall totals in extreme west-central Minnesota and northeast South Dakota will range up to 15 inches. Blowing and drifting snow Sunday through Monday morning will create near zero visibility.
