ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - A St. Cloud woman admitted she stabbed a man in the shoulder.

Court records show 39-year-old Maritza Mikado Lockett pleaded guilty to 2nd degree assault with a weapon.

She faces up to seven years in prison.

She will be allowed to argue for a lesser sentence of three years and four months in prison when she is sentenced on October 10th.

The plea deal calls for a charge of 5th degree assault to be dismissed.

Police were called around 1:00 a.m. on November 25th, for a stabbing in the 3600 block of Division Street West in St. Cloud.

A man said he had been talking with Lockett when she suddenly lunged at him.

The victim says he attempted to dodge Lockett but she stabbed him in his right shoulder.

He suffered a half inch by half inch L-shaped wound.

A witness says they saw Lockett “grab an object and jab it” at the victim’s shoulder.

Court records didn’t indicate what the object was.
