Jonny Brodzinski netted a hat trick en route to a 3-1 victory for the St. Cloud State Huskies over the Colgate Raiders on Saturday night.

The Huskies visibly had much more energy at the beginning of the game compared to Friday night's 3-1 Colgate victory. An even-strength goal by Brodzinski, his first of the season, put the Huskies up 1-0 at the 8:09 mark of the first-period. Colgate's Joe Wilson, who scored the first goal in Friday night's Husky-Raider clash, took a roughing penalty with 2:32 left in the first-period. Wilson served just 18 seconds of that penalty thanks to a power play goal by Jonny Brodzinski. It was Brodzinski's second goal of the game and put the Huskies up 2-0.

Late the third-period Brodzinski skated down on a breakaway and appeared to have scored his third goal of the game, though the officials initally waived it off. After a long replay review, the officials overturned the call, giving Brodzinski his third goal of the game and the natural hat trick.

A late Husky penalty cost Husky goaltender Charlie Lindgren a shutout, as Tyson Spink took advantage with a goal that came with 2:48 left in the third-period.  Lindgren finished the game with 24 saves on 25 Raider shots, while Raider goalie Charlie Finn stopped 22 of 25 Husky shots.

Colgate returns home next week to face Northeastern while the Huskies have next weekend off before they travel to Schenectady, NY to take on Union, the defending NCAA champions.
