Sports for Friday, June 13th


MLB: Twins had the night off

-          Brian Dozier left the last game with a tight back, but is expected back in the lineup tonight

-          Twins @ Tigers, 6:08pm, Kyle Gibson (5-5) vs. Drew Smyly (3-4) (Smiley) (Smyly used to pitch in the Northwoods League)


NHL: Stanley Cup Finals: Rangers @ Kings, Game 5

-          Kings lead the series 3-1 and can wrap up the cup with a win


NBA: Spurs 107, Heat 86

-          Spurs now lead the series 3-1

-          Every single member of the Spurs had at least 2 points last night

-          Kawhi Leonard with another strong game, 20 points and 14 boards

-          Game 5 is Sunday in San Antonio at 7pm


Golf: US Open Round 1

-          Martin Kaymer (Ki-mer) has the lead at 5-under, after shooting a opening round 65

-          A group of four golfers are 3 strokes behind

-          15 golfers posted scores in the red (below par)

-          Phil Mickelson (E) // Rory McIlroy (+1) // Adam Scott (+3)


-          Round 2 gets started at 5:45AM


MSC: Cathedral 5, Blake School 1

-          Opening round of the Class 2A State Championship

-          All four top seeds in 2A advanced on yesterday

-          Cathedral will be back in action today vs. Glencoe-Silver Lakes, Noon at Dick Putz Field, game will be on the Metro Sports Commission on 660AM starting at 11:30am

-          If Cathedral wins, they will be at Target Field Saturday for the Championship


Northwoods League: Rox were rained out yesterday against the Border Cats yesterday.

-          The game has been moved to today where the teams will play two 7 innings games starting at 4:35pm

-          Rox return home tomorrow for a two game set against the Kenosha Kingfish


World Cup: Brasil 3, Croatia 1

-          Croatia's goal was a Brasil own goal and the first score of the game

-          There was a terrible call that gave Brasil a PK and allowed them to score their 2nd goal

-          Mexico vs. Cameron 11AM // Spain vs. Netherlands 2PM // Chile vs. Austrailia 5PM



-          Former Minnesota Viking Kevin Williams has agreed to a one year deal with the Seattle Seahawks.

-          The Atlanta Falcons have volunteered to be on this year's edition of HBO's Hard Knocks

-          Vegas listed Adrian Peterson as the odds on favorite (4-1) to win the rushing title this season, LeSean McCoy is right behind him at 5-1.
