ST. CLOUD, MN (KNSI) – For the second straight year the St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders will play for a Minnesota State High School Baseball championship at the AA level. The Crusaders take on Holy Family Catholic High School at 3 p.m. at Target Field.

Catch all the action on the airwaves of the Metro Sports Commission. The championship tilt will be aired on 660 AM, starting around 2:45 p.m.

Cathedral, the 2011 AA State Champs, finished the regular season in second place in the Granite Ridge Conference, and then fought back from an early post-season loss to win the Section 6 title.

Through the first two rounds of the state tournament Cathedral faced a tough Delano team, picking up 5-0 win, then survived with a 9-8 extra inning win in the semi-final match-up against Proctor.

Now 24-5 on the season, one more win for the Crusaders will give them their eighth state title in school history. Cathedral currently sits tied with the third most wins all time in state tournament play with 30 victories.
