TYLER, TX (KNSI) – One of the best seasons in the history of  St. Cloud Technical and Community College Cyclones baseball team ended with a loss in the third round of the NJCAA Division III World Series Monday.

The Cyclone's first ever trip to the World Series ended with a 13-3 loss at the hands of Niagra in an elimination game. SCTCC lost it's opening game to host Tyler JC, then extended their season with a victory over Nassau. After tournament play the Cyclones ended the season with a record of 43-10.

Pitching, a season long strength of the Cyclones, faltered in both World Series losses. Three SCTCC pitchers combined to allow 13 runs over the first six innings to Niagra and the offense could not recover.

In spite of the way it ended, the 43 win season put SCTCC firmly on the NJCAA map.
