MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A former college football coach who was caught up and later cleared in a child pornography investigation in Minnesota is the new head coach at Minot State University in North Dakota.

Former Minnesota State-Mankato head coach Todd Hoffner got the job. Minot State Sports Information Director Michael Linnell confirmed it to The Associated Press.

Hoffner was caught up in a child porn investigation in 2012. He was cleared by a judge, but Minnesota State removed him as head coach and later fired him.

At Minot State he succeeds Paul Rudolph, who resigned on Jan. 2 after seven seasons to become the offensive coordinator at the University of North Dakota.
