COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KNSI) - Entering tonight the Huskies were tied atop the NCHC standings, but when the dust cleared after the 4-1 win over Colorado College, the Huskies were alone on top.

After leading the NCHC throughout the season, a hot North Dakota squad combined with some less than stellar hockey from the Huskies combined to have the two teams tied after last weekends split. After both teams won on Friday they were one night away from sharing the trophy. But enter Jonny Brodzinski and a red hot offense as they carried the Huskies to a weekend sweep over Colorado College.
The win not only means the new Penrose Cup, but it also means a home series against Miami next weekend to start the NCHC playoffs.

Head coach Bob Motzko and the voice of the Huskies Dan Terhaar will be at The Green Mill in downtown St. Cloud to discuss the championship and the upcoming playoffs at 6pm Monday night right here on AM 1450 FM 103.3 KNSI.
