MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Lynx have a WNBA championship to defend, and they're embracing the challenge.
The last time a team in the league won back-to-back titles was 10 years ago by the Los Angeles Sparks, and the Lynx aren't hiding that hope.
The season opens on May 20 with a home game against the Phoenix Mercury.
The Lynx had their team together on Monday for the first time this year, the entire roster finally returned from their respective overseas clubs. There were hugs and happy faces all over the practice court as players posed for photographs, recorded promotional videos and took questions from reporters.
Every key player is back, including 41-year-old center Taj McWilliams-Franklin, who put off retirement for another season.
